Bob has been an actor, stage and screen writer, a college and university lecturer and now divides his time as a professional director in both theatre and TV. He is a
Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; Full member of Directors UK and an Associate Member of the Guild
of Drama Adjudicators.


His production of Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers has won every major British theatre awards, recently completing a record 25 year run in London and was
nominated for three Olivier awards.His other long running musical successes are Leslie Bricusse’s
Scrooge has enjoyed over 20 years of regular seasons, including three London runs at the Palladium and
Dominion theatres and Evita ran until 2020 with
performances in London’s Dominion and Phoenix theatres.


Recent national touring productions include:  Jesus Christ Superstar, Oliver, Blood Brothers in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US. Television direction includes BBC drama series Hero to zero and the
subsequent    full length film version which sold to 15 countries; several series of Dream Team, ITV’s Night and Day; The Bill; Heartbeat; BBC’s Father Brown; Channel 5’s Family Affairs and Channel 4’s Brookside.
He continues to be a guest director on ITV’s   Emmerdale and BBC’s Doctors. Currently he is pre-production for the feature film  Dreamboats.
